Pascal Rey

Born into a family of musicians from Toulouse, Pascal Rey began playing drums from a very early age with his father on guitar and his mother on organ in a 70’s pop ambiance.
Later, at the Dante Agostini school in Toulouse, he discovers new styles of music and meets Billy Higgins, Elvin Jones, Roy Haynes, Jack Dejohnnette, André Ceccarelli and many others…Then, a three year collaboration with Francis Lassus and his « Elégantes Machines » rich in musicality, authenticity, improvisation and many different sessions with notably Sylvain Luc and Daniel Mille, with whom
he still works today.
Based in Paris since 2001, he makes the acquaintance of other musicians such as Jean Christophe Maillard, Vincent Peirani, Kévin Reveyrand, Lionel Suarez, Franck Monbaylet and Helene Arntzen and participates in various different projects. An album entitled « Après la pluie »/ “After the Rain” recorded with Daniel Mille, alongside Stéphane Belmondo, Eric Legnini and Rémi Vignolo. Recording with Sylvain Luc of the album « Joko », alongside Olivier Ker Ourio,
Eric Longsworth, Keyvan & Bijan Chemirani, Michel Portal and Jacky Terrasson.
Since January 2006, he has accompanied the singer Art Mengo. With Helene Arntzen, the recording of an album based on the music of Grieg.
